Wall Street consulting firm LionTree evaluates crypto payments
Wall Street financial advisory firm LionTree, which helped Amazon buy MGM this year, said it is considering crypto payments.
LionTree is considering offering cryptocurrencies as a payment option. The company’s CEO, Aryeh Bourkoff, stated in his year-end letter that crypto could be a potential tool to empower individuals and explore some of the biggest trends in the crypto industry, such as DeFi and NFT.
“Crypto has made itself non-negligible, reaching a market cap of $3 trillion in 2021,” Bourkoff said, because people with more cash than usual want to protect their money against inflation and generate higher returns.
Bourkoff also hinted that the company may offer crypto payment options for its services in the near future:
“We are currently evaluating ways to start accepting cryptocurrencies as payment for our services. As our ecosystem grows and our relationships mature, we may even create a LionTree token in the not-too-distant future.”
